Happy Blogiversary - It's Blog Candy Time!

Wow!  I actually have two things to celebrate - the first is passing 50,000 hits on my blog earlier this month (thank you) and the second is my blogiversary at the end of the month!  My first blog entry was on October 27, 2007.  Hard to believe that I've been blogging now for three years!  Sure sounds like two good reasons to celebrate - that's why I'm going to offer not one but TWO sets of blog candy!  I have two Botanical Blossoms SAB sets from two years ago, along with two Holiday Best Level 1 Hostess sets from last year.  Two lucky winners will receive a copy of each stamp set along with some ribbon and a few other accessories like brads/buttons.  To enter, simply leave me a comment on this post between now and October 31 and I'll enter you in the drawing.

Drumroll, please!

First, I'd like to thank everyone who left me a comment about my stop on the Stampin' Addicts New Catty Mega Blog Hop!  I love being off from work and having the time to create.  As promised, I went to random.org today to choose the winner of my blog candy.  Without further adieu,

After counting down the comments list, I found that the winner is a fellow Stampin' Addict:

Congrats, Adriana!  Please email me at lovetostampandscrap@yahoo.com (or pm me over on SA) with your choice of an individual stamp from either the new IBC or Holiday Mini.  Thanks, everyone, for playing along.

Last Chance List Contest

It's that time of year again... time for the Last Chance List from Stampin' Up!  I am hosting a Last Chance List contest to celebrate.  Now through Sunday, May 30, the contest will be open for you to guess which 10 stamp sets you think will be retiring from the current SU! Idea Book & Catalog.  You have until midnight (PDT) on Sunday, May 30 to email me at lovetostampandscrap@yahoo.com with your list of 10 stamp sets that you think will be retiring.  I will go over all the submissions and the person who guesses the most stamp sets on the Last Chance List will receive an "a la carte" or "Under $10" stamp from me, either from the Summer Mini or from the new Idea Book & Catalog when it comes out!  If there is a tie, there will be a drawing held to select one winner.

As a reminder, your lists should consist of stamp sets only - no accessories like ribbon, brads, buttons, wheels, and so on.  Also, please do not include hostess sets (which retire each year), the "Under $10" individual stamps from the last page of the current catalog, or items from any of our current mini/specialty catalogs.  Stamps available in multiple languages can only be counted as one item on your list as well.  If you need to check out the catalog, click here to download the catalog or view current stamp sets online via my demonstrator website.

Please come back and visit my blog on the evening of June 1 to see the actual Last Chance List.
Good luck!  Cheryl

Blog Candy Winner!

This morning I hopped over to random.org to have it pick the winner of my blog candy - a set of rub-ons from the new Holiday Mini that is now available for customers to order from.  I had 58 sweet comments on my projects for the Stampin' Addicts Holiday Mini Blog Hop over the weekend.  Drumroll, please...

My ninth post was made by Gayle - congratulations!  Gayle, I've emailed you to ask for your mailing address and to let me know which set of rub-ons you'd like.

It was SOOOOO fun all weekend checking back to see the kind comments everyone was leaving me.  The acetate card was most people's favorite, but close behind was the winter garland project.  Quite a few of you liked the New Year's card, too!  Thanks again for visiting my site and I hope many of you will come by again to see what's new!

And the winner is...

Happy weekend everyone! I had planned to post last night with the winner of the blog candy, but just didn't get to it. Tonight I finally had some time to sit down at the computer and I went to random.org to choose the winner, and it's my friend Erin! Congrats! Erin was the first to leave me a comment about my reverse spotlighting cards, and random.org chose number 1!

I hope you are having a great weekend. I took our youngest and one of her friends to a kids cooking class today. The theme was Bugz! and we had Bug Juice (lemonade concentrate - thawed, frozen strawberries - thawed, then blended, mixed with ginger ale) - yummy! The garnish on the cups was a gummy worm. Cute! Then we made Mississippi Mud Pie - coffee ice cream topped with Nutella, topped with crumbled Oreo cookie and whipped cream, which went into the freezer for eating later. Next up was Snail Snacks - a tortilla cut into a square, spread with cream cheese (or mayo, our choice), with spinach greens laid on top, then turkey lunch meat, and topped off with American cheese. This was then tightly rolled and cut into fourths. We used gherkin pickles, cut diagonally in half for the snail's head, and stuck chive antennae into holes made by a toothpick in the pickle - oh, so cute! I'll post a picture later once I've had a chance to download the pictures from my camera. Main course was a Butterfly Cheesewhich - grilled cheese cut into fourths (using two of them for the wings), a celery stick body, carrot sticks with cherry tomatoes for the antennae. We decorated the wings with shapes cut from a red pepper. Then it was time to eat the dessert we had made earlier - yummy! After the class, we went to see Marley & Me (enjoyed it, we all cried...), with dinner at Panera Bread afterwards. After our astronomy club meeting tonight, I got to open my Sale-A-Bration preorder that arrived yesterday. I ordered two stamps sets - Yummy, which coordinates with the Top Note die, and Botanical Blooms, a pretty floral two-step stampin' set. I also ordered the Delicate Dots designer series paper, which contains 16 sheets with 8 designs. I hope I can find some time tomorrow to stamp - tonight it's just getting too late, and I'm feeling pretty tired. I hope you can find some time to do something fun this weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

Blog Candy Reminder

When I first posted my two Reverse Spotlighting cards below, I forgot to mention that I was including individual blocks so you can separate the So Many Sayings set into 33 individual stamps! My 'cyber stampin' friend' Corinne, aka Roxy, has a terrific hubby who has made some wonderful blocks to make some of our stamp sets even more versatile by mounting them on their own blocks! If you win, you can choose the already premounted So Many Sayings set, or you can choose to mount it yourself.

To enter, please leave me a comment on my post below giving me some feedback regarding which features you like from the two versions of my Reverse Spotlighting cards. I'll choose a winner randomly tomorrow night, Friday, January 9.
